Reiki

The word Reiki is made of two Japanese words: Rei, which means "God's wisdom" or "higher power", and Ki, which is "life force energy." So Reiki is actually "spiritually guided life force energy."

Reiki is an energetic healing technique that can be used alone or in conjunction with any form of  medical or therapeutic treatment.  Reiki helps to treat stress, anxiety, migraines, muscle aches, accelerates healing and alleviates pain in diseases such as cancer, rheumatism, chronic diseases, among others.   

There are several modalities of Reiki:

Reiki Usui

This wonderful healing technique was developed by the Japanese Zen Buddhist Mikao Usui.  

Reiki Tibetan

Is an alternative energy healing method that originated in Tibet; combines aura cleansing and full body balance sessions. Tibetan Reiki uses crystals, mantras, sound and other healing tools that pull out negative energy and disease from your body and mind.  

Reiki Karuna

Is a wonderful advanced healing system with higher levels of vibrational and healing frequency. Karuna energy healing is deep and rapid, so it allows for a closer connection with your soul; transmutes the negative into positive, avoiding suffering and restoring the balance of the physical being.

Is a holistic supportive therapy, stimulates spiritual growth and brings harmony into the physical body. The healing can be experienced physically, spiritually and/or emotionally. The energy goes where it is needed the most. Each healing session is unique to each patient.

REIKI sessions last about 45 minutes and has no contraindications to other treatments. Disclaimer: Reiki should not be used as a substitute for any medical prescriptions. 

The modality of Reiki used during the session will depend on the Reiki therapist's assessment.

Children today are dealing with anxieties, fears, social and educational pressures. Reiki treatments are safe and non-invasive. During the session a practitioner can simply be in the same room with a child, offering the energy gently, without touching.  Sometimes just spend time with the child, playing or coloring; letting the child guide the session.  As the child becomes more comfortable and as the Reiki Energy begins to work, changes may come gradually. 

In case of Childhood ailments such as ear infections, respiratory infections, asthma, diabetes, irritability, emotional issues and hyperactivity; parents are encouraged to learn Reiki so their child can receive daily treatments. Reiki sessions to treat children are shorter than a regular session and are performing always in the presence of a parent in the room.

This fantastic healing energy system developed by William Rand, includes three levels of instruction. It is only available to those who have done Usui Reiki Master Level or have been working with the Traditional Master Symbol.
